Summer is quickly approaching and that means time off work and school and more time to travel! Before the best places book up and prices start to skyrocket, here are some quick tips to ensure you have the best summer vacation on the planet!
Book Early. Don’t wait until the last minute to plan your vacation. Start planning now, book early and pay things off, and leave the stress behind! Plus, you can budget better when you know how much things are going to really cost.
Ask a Friend. Why do a ton of research when you can ask a friend, neighbor, co-worker where they have traveled and how they did it! Especially if you are going to a foreign country, planning can be tedious (especially if you don’t have a reliable computer to do all the research!) Borrow someone else’s travel itinerary and follow in their footsteps! You can always edit it to make it more appealing to your interests and lifestyle, but at least you have the groundwork to get started.
Go Somewhere New! I read a travel article once that said most people revisit places they have already been to. While it’s always fun to visit a familiar place, it is always an amazing feeling when you foot touches ground on somewhere you’ve never been! If you have a place you LOVE and find it hard to not revisit, find a similar place to what you love. Maybe it’s the beach or small town feel or historic past; whatever it is, find a place like it so you can check one more location off your must-see list.
Stay Local. Sometimes you don’t need to go far to see something cool and new. Most likely, there are super cool things to see right in the place you call home, if you can get a little creative. Jump online, ask some friends, and start moving! Take a look to see what the best places within driving distance is and not only will you save on airfare, but you will appreciate your homebase a bit more! Find a beach, a mountain, or little town on a big river and start exploring!
